The Canadian Agricultural Skills Service (CASS) provides funding for learning activities that Saskatchewan farmers can apply for financial support.

Today's successful farm family is engaged in life-long learning as it works to compete successfully and keep up with changing markets and new technology. Canadian Agricultural Skills Service (CASS) provides funding and practical assistance to get you (and your spouse) on a learning program that will lead to increased opportunities for profitability.

Canadian Agricultural Skills Service (CASS) offers:

  • Assessment: Assistance is available to help you identify your existing strengths and skills
  • Development of an Individual Learning Plan: They will help you with identifying courses that will prepare you for other types of employment. A consultant will help you decide which courses or workshops would be most helpful
  • Follow up: A consultant is available while you carry out the learning plan
  • Eligibility: You and your spouse are eligible to receive financing if you are an established producer with gross farm sales of at least $10,000 per year or if you own a 20% share of a farm corporation, cooperative or other farm group enterprise with $10,000 annual gross farm sales; if you are a beginning farmer or if you have a net family net family income of less that $45,000 and you have been out of school for two years and are not receiving Employment Insurance Part II funding for training.
